There are few countries that can boast such a variety of natural and cultural resources as Colombia

Come and see!!

Along with the tremendous success of the Colombian Festival that takes place every year to commemorate the Colombian Independence Day, the 2006 Colombian Festival experienced arguably one of the most successful events in its history in Queensland despite the restricted space. However, this was an excuse to create an intimate atmosphere when most of the audience gathered as at a typical Colombian house party. It has generated positive comments from festival experts.

Many thanks to the crew, musicians, community participants and all the sponsors for the immeasurable contribution to a wonderful demonstration of community unity and joy!

This year the official Colombian Festival 2007 comes alive with a colourful representation of the major Carnival in Colombia called "Carnaval de Barraquilla ( Barranquilla 's Carnival) which includes masquerades, krewes and dances parades.

Barranquilla is a wonderful city that's rich in culture, music and life.

Barranquilla's Carnival is broadly recognized as one of the world's largest Carnivals reputed for being second in size to Rio de Janeiro but is far less commercialized. The Carnival of Barranquilla was proclaimed by UNESCO , as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity

As part of the festivities we are presenting on show a Latin Salsa band to close the night with a colourful party where we will bring Joselito the party guy to officially close the celebration. This is going to be an exuberant night of glamour, music, dance and food.

There are many pictures , video s for you to view, so you'll have a good idea about this exciting celebration!

If you've never experienced Carnaval de Barranquilla then you definitely need to add this to your list of events to experience a portrayal of one of the biggest Carnivals around the world taking place in Brisbane

Stay tuned over the next weeks as the program and all details will be up to date.

'The mixture of colors, rhythm, dancing, costumes and people in each Colombian Festival keeps the cultural tradition of Colombia alive'
